The customised tools on this page are offered to SmartSERVER owners, installers and integrators for use with their installations. It is not necessary to install these tools for the normal day to day operation of the SmartSERVER.
If you are connecting to a network with a DHCP server the IP address which is allocated to the SmartSERVER may not be immediately obvious. This can be further compounded if login access to the router/DHCP server is not available.
The SmartSERVER Discovery software is a convenient tool which can run on most Windows, Mac and Linux personal computers to help you "find your device". Please note you will also need to install Java support if it is not already present on your machine.
The SmartSERVER product suite has been developed to support the remote update of firmware without need for any special programming hardware or cables.
Firmware updates are usually released to address a performance issue, security concern or software bug. New firmware may alter existing functionality.
To carry out a firmware update you need to have this tool installed on a network enabled computer. The Software Updater utility is currently only compatible with the Microsoft Windows PC operating systems. Please check our website for future releases of this utility.
